Words That Inspire

I was inspired this morning when I looked out the kitchen window and saw a pair of cardinals on the fence.

The rain finally stopped yesterday.  No rain in the forecast for the next week.  Now we're waiting on the clouds to leave and the sun to make an appearance.
Praying for all the folks affected by flooding in our state & Texas.

Wishing you a blessed day . . .

Words That Inspire

What a reasurrance this is.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life,
what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.
Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns,
and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not much more valuable than they?”
Matthew 6:25-26 (NIV)

Wishing you all a restful day . . .

Mother's Day Memories

I have special memories of Mother's Day while I was growing up.
On Mother's Day morning before church my
Daddy would go outside to cut a red rose for each of us to wear.
A red rose meant your Mother was still alive.
I think this tradition faded away about 30 years ago.
A white rose meant your mother had passed away.
I remember seeing the people at church wearing a white rose or beautiful white carnation corsage and thinking how sad it must be to not have your Mother with you to celebrate the day.
My dear, sweet Mother, Helen, passed away 17 years ago one month before Mother's Day. That first Mother's Day without her was very difficult. All of the holidays were difficult that first year.
I cherish the memories of Mother. Her love, kindness, beautiful singing voice, & generous heart are a legacy of love to her family. She loved the Lord. I find sweet comfort in knowing that I will see her again in heaven. I thank God for my wonderful mother.
Mothers hold their children's
hands for a short while,
but their hearts forever.
Wishing each of you a wonderful Mother's Day . . .

Pansy Art

Emma visited for a few hours today while her brother was at school & mommy had some errands to do.
It was the perfect time to do a fun art project.
We clipped a few pansy blooms.
Using a hammer we "printed" the pretty colors on a piece of construction paper.
I helped a little by using a larger hammer.
We made a Mother's Day card for her mommy.

I love making memories with my grandkids!

Words That Inspire

Permanence, perseverance, and persistence in spite of all obstacles,
 discouragements, and impossibilities:
It is this that in all things distinguishes
the strong soul from the weak.
Sir Francis Drake

Blessed is the man who keeps on
going when times are hard.
James 1:12
