Words That Inspire

Love came down at Christmas!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

Fun Days With Grandkids

I had a super fun day on Monday with Emma & Ethan.
Their mommy finished Christmas shopping while we played.
The kiddos helped me make a list of 10 things to do.
One of the 10 items was the Santa project.  They counted all the Santas in the house.  After counting they found a total of 61 Santas.  Most of those were on the 2 Christmas trees.
Next, they created a Santa mask with a paper plate, construction paper, cotton balls & glue.  They had a blast.

We did finish all 10 fun things on the list.

Tuesday was another fun day.  I went to their school to watch the Christmas program.  The sweet sound of children singing is so inspiring.
Jingle Bells

Smiling with pride!

Making memories is priceless.

Words That Inspire

Brothers and sisters:
Rejoice in the Lord always.
I shall say it again: rejoice!
Your kindness should be known to all.
The Lord is near.
Have no anxiety at all, but in everything,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
make your requests known to God.
Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:4-7

2nd Sunday of Advent
We light a second purple candle on the second Sunday of Advent
to represent the hope of Christ coming to the world.

 "I am the Light of the world;
he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness,
but will have the Light of life."
John 8:12

It's Beginning To Look Like Christmas

Ethan & Emma proudly posing with our tree
they helped decorate on Thanksgiving evening.
What a great job they did!
Everytime they visit they enjoy admiring the tree and talking about the ornaments.
More Christmas 2015 pictures will be coming soon.

Words That Inspire

"When upon life’s billows
 you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged,
 thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings,
name them one by one,
And it will surprise you
what the Lord hath done."

Words That Inspire

I've seen this several times on Facebook this week.
Good advice . . .
To remember.....

Do not be quick with your mouth,
do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God.
God is in heaven and you are on earth,
so let your words be few.
Ecclesiastics 5:2

Words That Inspire

Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints,
and give thanks to his holy name.

For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.[c]
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning.
Psalm 30:4-5

Words That Inspire

Words about worry . . .

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6

This should be our mantra . . .
Too blessed to be stressed!

Words That Inspire

There is a quiet place
far from the rapid pace
where God can soothe my troubled mind.
Sheltered by tree and flower
there in my quiet hour with him
my cares are left behind.

Whether a garden small,
or on a mountain tall
new strength and courage there I find,
and then from that quiet place
I go prepared to face a new day
with love for all mankind

Wishing you a day of renewal . . .

Words That Inspire

"Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood."
written by Frances (Franny) J. Crosby, 1873

These things have I written to you that believe on the name of the Son of God;
that you may know that you have eternal life,
and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Summer Chalkboards

It's cloudy, rainy and 79 degrees here in my neck of the woods in NE Oklahoma.
Unreal weather for July, LOVE it!!!
I decided to do a little summer chalkboard art on my 2 boards this morning.
Pinterest provided the inspiration.
These and other ideas can be found on my Summertime Pinterest board.

Another Fun Fourth

We always enjoy our 4th of July family celebration.
Thank you, Kari, for posting this awesome picture on Facebook.
I bought Emma's outfit at Sam's several years ago for less than  $4.00.  She got to wear it 3 years.  Time for me to shop for another patriotic outfit for both kiddos.
They had a good time wearing these glow light creations.
I found them at Hobby Lobby for 60% off.  Great bargain for a box of 50 pieces.

I'm putting away the decorations today.
Hubby brought the yard flags in early this morning.  Thanks for jump starting the process, Bob.

Ready To Celebrate

Happy 4th of July!
We're ready to celebrate!
Our subdivision parade is this morning.
Our grand kids always enjoy being in the parade.
We'll grill hamburgers for our celebration meal with homemade ice cream for dessert.
This is always a special day.
I love making memories with my family.
We'll set up our little pool for the kiddos to enjoy.
Looking forward to watching fireworks tonight.
God Bless America!!!
While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free,
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer.

God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home.

Words That Inspire

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
Romans 8:26-27

Words That Inspire

The first flag day was June 14, 1777.  It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened on that day in 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.
In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day; in August 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress.

Wishing you a beautiful day for flying our flag . . .
