Saturday Snapshots

Here are just a few snapshots from this morning.
Easter boxes waiting for a trip back to the attic.
Emma's red cowboy boots.
April showers bring May flowers.
Blueberry pancakes for breakfast!

After breakfast we shopped for a couple of hours at our favorite place, Target.  Next was dinner at Aubelo's.  Yum, yum, Mexican food at its finest!

Last night we watched Frozen.  My first time, their 2nd.
I loved everything about the movie. The songs are so singable & the story line teaches some great life lessons. I want to watch it again.

It has been so much fun having Kari & the Littles staying here.  Making memories is so much fun!
Papaw & Bobby have been in Texas, making memories of their own at the Bob Wills birthday bash.  They're driving back tonight.  Sure hope they avoid stormy weather.

Hope you're having a super weekend!

2 Great New Recipes

I tried 2 new recipes from Pinterest this past weekend.  I'm always afraid to try new recipes for a holiday meal, but these turned out great & were really delicious.

This is the last piece.
The three berries, strawberry, blueberry & raspberry are such a great combination.

This is the picture from Pinterest.
Skinny Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo
Kari & I whipped this together for our evening meal on Sunday night.
We liked it very much.  In fact, Ethan loved it so much he asked to take home the leftovers.  He also asked me when I was going to make Chicken Pot Pie again.
Now, that means success to me!
Click here for my Chicken Pot Pie recipe.

If you try either of these, let me know what you think.

Easter 2014

Our Easter celebration was filled with food, chocolate, eggs, & more chocolate.
The littles proudly showing off the eggs they found during our front yard/back yard egg hunt.  The eggs were filled with money & chocolates.

Emma had so much fun opening each egg.  Everytime she opened one she would announce with delight, "More money!" or "More candy!"

Ethan, checking out his pail of Easter goodies from Nana & Papaw.

The kids kept hiding away under tables & the piano to eat chocolates.
Emma was sneaky, she managed to eat the icing off 6 cupcakes & eat 1/2 of 2 cupcakes.
I need to check with Kari to find out if they've come down from their sugary Easter high.

It's rainy here today.  Perfect day for staying in & catching up with a few chores.  I might take a nap, too.

Words That Inspire . . .

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading,
kept in heaven for you,
1 Peter 1:3-4

Wishing you a joyous Resurrection Sunday . . .

Easter Eve

Happy Easter Eve!
Thoughts about what Easter is really all about are on my mind.
I received word yesterday that my cousin, Mary Lou, passed away.
She was ready to go.  Because of the resurrection we know she is in heaven.
We've been busy shopping for Easter dinner & the egg hunt.
Hubby had to got to work this afternoon.  Bummer!
It's time for me to fill some Easter eggs.

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.

Easter Egg Coloring Party

Thursday afternoon was full of fun coloring eggs.  Emma & Ethan's cousin, Levi, joined us for the 'egg-citing' afternoon.
This is the chalkboard above the grandkids' library shelf  in our living room.
I think Peter Cottontail will enjoy hiding our colorful eggs.
We used 3 methods for dying the eggs.

Click on each link to see the Pinterest idea.
Kari's sister, Kim, is displaying her orange egg dipped in Kool-aid, love was written with white crayon.
Each child had a dozen eggs to decorate.
Levi & Ethan watch while Kari checks the eggs in Kool-aid.
In the end, the moms finished the egg dying.
Sorry this picture is so bad, girls.
The kids ate bunny snacks & watched the Easter episode of Paw Patrol.  Some of you may be familiar with the series on Nick Jr.  Emma & Ethan always want to was the show when they visit our house.

Good Friday blessings to you, my friend!

Easter In The Dining Room

Today I'm sharing the dining room Easter bling.
Mr. Bosley Reed is enjoying his book in a nest of Easter eggs.
Another rabbit friend & more eggs are on the side table.
Even more bunnies are perched on top of china hutch.
I'm looking forward to this afternoon.  The grand kids are coming over to color Easter eggs.
I'll give you a report tomorrow.

They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,

Easter Bling In The Piano Room

I had so much fun last Thursday when my grand kids & their mommy came over to help me decorate for Easter.
Here is the Easter bling in the piano room.
Vintage Peter Rabbit Book
Easter Tree
The tree is decorated with a variety of small items collected over the years.

Easter bling around the tree.
Bunnies On A Bench
Amazing Grace Rabbits
Bunny Bear

Emma had fun looking at eggs in a basket.
Here's the same shot done with the IPhone app, Waterlouge.
Have you tried Waterlouge yet?  It's a lot of fun.
I think I'll print & frame this one.

Words That Inspire

God's grace is enough for me!

Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved,
through faith--and this not from yourselves,
it is the gift of God--  not by works, so that no one can boast.

Wishing you a day filled with God's love . . .

Taking Care Of Business

I'm taking care of business around the house.
I have been in the process of doing some deep spring cleaning for the past two weeks.
I'm using these ingredients to clean showers, sinks & drains.
Here's a link to a pin showing how to clean drains with vinegar & baking soda.

Here are the items I use for dusting.
These orange towels from Sam's work so well for dusting.

I'm taking my time doing these spring cleaning chores.  I'm feeling so much better with my RA & I don't want to get over tired.  I do enough each day so I feel like I'm accomplishing something.
