Random Monday Memories #12 . . .

Our little neighbor girl and her mom came by one
day last week selling Girl Scout cookies.
We bought three boxes.

Notice you only see 2 boxes.
Why, you ask?!?!
Hubby already ate an entire box!

Buying Girl Scout cookies brought back memories of when I was in Scouts.

I was so proud of my uniform.

I remember going door to door by myself
in our neighborhood selling cookies.
Back in those days it was totally safe to be in your
neighborhood by yourself.
My, how times have changed!

When someone bought cookies they received a
sticker like this to place on their
front door window so no one else would try
to sell them cookies.
What a great idea that was!

February Thunderstorm . . .

Spring is in the air this morning.

My flag is waving to hurry up
the arrival of springtime.

If you click on the picture to enlarge, you may be able to see the tree is full of buds.

Bye Bye Balloons . . .

The balloons are finally gone from the guest
bathroom sink area!
Another dream come true!

I guess if you're a fan of
vintage hot air balloons you might
like this look.

I tried to like it, but I couldn't make it work.

We were able to reuse the wall plates
by removing the paper and giving them
a good soak in warm water.

Much better!

The color looks different in this picture.

I'm not finished with the redo of this space.
I'll be shopping around the house
to find things that will complete the
new look.

On a more serious note I must give you a praise
report about a scary situation that happened
yesterday. Our daughter-in-law & grandson
were rear ended yesterday afternoon
as they were stopped at a traffic light.
Kari is almost 8 months pregnant.
Of course Ethan was in his car seat in the back seat.
We're giving thanks they were not harmed.
They were both checked out at two different hospitals.
Kari had to be admitted to a room in labor & delivery.
After 4 hours of monitoring she was released.
Praise the Lord for His protection!

Bathroom Makeover Reveal . . .

My dreams have come true!

The ugly master bathroom wallpaper is gone!

Thanks to my sister, Susan and
brother~in~law, Mike, my vision for
a bathroom makeover came true over
the weekend.
The paint is Behr with primer.
It covered the wallpaper like a charm.
Only one coat needed.
So much easier than priming then painting.
Susan said it's the best paint she has ever used.

We replaced the gold towel bar with
this wall sconce from Target.
Susan made the window treatment from
a shower curtain we also found at Target.

This picture was a $12.00 bargain
we found at Gordman's.
I fell in love with the quote,
"Dwell in possibility",
by Emily Dickinson.

Come back tomorrow to see another
makeover in the upstairs 'balloon bathroom'.

It's Got To Go . . .

When we moved in this house
7 years ago I didn't like
the wallpaper in our master bath,
but decided we could live with it for a while.

It's ugly.
IT'S GOT TO GO!

Yesterday I bought a sample can.
I painted a small area in the toilet room last night.
This morning we're headed out to buy paint and primer.
My sister and brother-in-law are going to help
us with the project.
Check back Monday for the reveal.

Looking For Spring . . .

I'm starting to get Spring fever!

Snow piles are shrinking,
I see green grass!!

I'm hoping for an early spring!

I feel the the urge to start decorating the
house with my little rabbit friends.
Do I dare?

Random Monday Memories #11 . . .

Do you remember Valentine's Day parties in elementary school?
I do!
I remember spending so much time picking out the perfect
cards for my classmates. I really liked the Valentines that were
in a large punch out book. The envelopes had to be cut and glued.
Oh, the excitement of making a paper covered box or construction
paper holder for the cards that were placed in them by
your friends!
The treats served at the party were simply a sugar cookie or a cupcake
and a paper cup filled with fruit punch or Koolaid.
Happy Valentine's Day
to you all!
Much love,
Carol

Sunshine And Melting . . .

The weather is improving in a major way, finally!
We were above freezing yesterday and it
will be warming up daily.
70s on Wednesday & Thursday!
I took these pictures on Thursday.
Seeing the sunshine was wonderful!
Now, let's see how long it takes for all
this snow to disappear!

The snowstorm of 2011 was exciting,
beautiful, and historic!
But, it's time to see it all melt away!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

He Loves Frosty . . .

Bobby, Kari, and Ethan have been staying with us
since all this crazy winter weather started.
We've been having so much fun playing
with our little buddy!

He is fascinated with Frosty the snowman.
It's just been too cold to build a Frosty
in our yard. Maybe we can manage to
create one before all the snow melts away!

This Frosty flag has been greeting
visitors who come to our front door
since January began.
It is time to put up the Valentine flag
for a few days.
We don't want to see the saying
"Let It Snow"
again until next winter.
I'm sure you understand!

Ethan enjoys snuggling under Nana's
OSU snuggie in his 'fort' .

We will have these moments to remember!

BRR-R-R-R ! ! !

-9 below zero!
Sun shining brightly!

Coffee mug in my hand!

The weatherman is telling us warmer weather

is heading our way next week.

60 degrees sounds too good to be true!

Can't wait!

Snow Song For A Snowy Day. . .

This little tune is one of my favorites from my childhood.
Some of you 'baby boomers' may remember
hearing Rosemary Clooney singing this song.

Before there was YouTube the song might
be seen on your black & white television.

Here's Suzy in all her glory!
I love you Suzy!

Mute my playlist so you can see the original.

Oh What A Beautiful Morning . . .

It's a beautiful morning!

I snapped this picture of the sunrise from
our deck this morning.
Absolutely gorgeous!
By looking at this you would never know
what is about to happen.
We're expecting up to 10 more inches of snow.
The snow will start to fall this evening
and continue through Wednesday.

This sign sums it up so well for most of us here in Oklahoma.

Stay safe & warm Okie friends & family!

and have a little snow fun.
