My Guys . . .

Pictures of my guys . . .

On Sunday we stopped by for a
short visit to love on Ethan.
Papaw is talking & Ethan seems
to be listening to every word.
Don't you just love that cute shirt?!?!

We went over to see Ethan again on
Monday because we missed him so much!
Ethan is wearing the outfit that
his daddy wore home from the hospital.

Look at those eyes!

Sharing A Discovery . . .

I made a delightful discovery a few
days ago & wanted to share
it with everyone!
I found this wonderful blog for
Weight Watcher recipes!

I tend to prepare the same meals
over & over again so this gives me great options.
I really like the way the recipes are in categories.

Even if you're not doing the Weight Watcher's plan I think anyone wanting to cook & eat healthy will appreciate what they'll find.

Visit Gina & tell me what you think . . .

By the way, if you read my Saturday post you might be interested to know we received 8" of snow. Sunday was a beautiful day & most of the snow melted. I think my tulips are going to be okay!

Children . . .

Children are a heritage from the Lord . . .
Psalm 127:3

Our sweet grandson, Ethan . . .

When Jesus was here on Earth, He often took time for children. He held them, blessed them, and told His disciples that their tender innocence and simple faith were the essence of the Kingdom of God.

If you have children, you no doubt know that God has entrusted you with a most precious treasure. He expects you to give them your very best and raise them with an understanding of His goodness and grace.

Just as an archer aims and then shoots an arrow toward his target, God has given you the ability to direct and send forth your children. And He has also given you His word that He will be there to help you, every step of the way.

Children must be valued as our most priceless possession.

You've Got to Be Kidding ! ! !

I can't believe it!
The weather forecasters
are predicting
a spring snow storm
for Oklahoma!

It could look like this by
Saturday afternoon!

We may receive up to 6 inches
here in the Tulsa area.

Counties to the northwest
of us may
get 12 inches!

I Admit It ! ! !

I admit it ! ! !
I'm an American Idol fan ! ! !
Maybe addict is a more appropriate word!

I watched a little of season one, but really
didn't get hooked until the season that
Clay Aiken & Ruben Studdard
were in the finals.

I like the addition of the new judge, Kara.
Simon is still Simon, but does
seen to be a little nicer this season.
He is someone that everyone
loves to hate.

I can't decide who my favorite is,there are a lot of great voices. Lil & Danny sing with great passion. Adam is very talented, but a little weird for my taste. I'm predicting that Megan will go home this week.

It Works For Me . . .

I have been hesitant to post about my
battle with the bulge, but finally decided it was time!

I have been a Weight Watchers member off & on several times. It is really the only diet that has worked for me. Back in August I decided to join again, but this time I decided to try WW on line. I really like it! I was able to lose 15 pounds in about 6 weeks. I've put on a few pounds in the past few months, so I'm back at it. I feel so energized & healthy when I eat right. I'm an emotional eater. I eat when I'm happy, sad, or stressed. LOL!!! I just realized the other day my 40th high school reunion is next year. My goal is to be at my goal weight by then, which means I need to shed 30 pounds!

Veggies are my #1 defense against snacking on the wrong choices.

The WW frozen meals are great to have around when you need a quick meal.
I do prefer to cook & plan my own menus, but these little gems are wonderful when you need them.
Are any of you doing Weight Watchers or following some other diet plan? I would love to hear from you about recipes & strategies for staying focused & on track.

Thanks~living . . .

O Lord my God,
I will give you thanks forever.
Psalm 10:12 NIV

Life is full of things to be grateful for ~ small acts of kindness and generosity, words of hope and encouragement, gifts of love and caring. Look around you and see how many you can count in just a few moments.

Perhaps on you drive down the street you passed a tree full of lovely spring blossoms. Or one of your friends sent you a thoughtful card. Or your spouse gave you a long embrace before leaving the house.

A thankful heart takes time to notice those small, precious gifts. Are you thankful for the little things that come your way? Why don't you let God know.

Thanksgiving is good but
thanks~living is better.

Spring Has Sprung . . .

One of the first signs of spring here in Oklahoma
is the blooming of the state tree, the redbud.

The Oklahoma Redbud is one of the first trees to flower in the early spring,
blooming petite purple-red flowers in large clusters.
This blizzard of bright blooms appears in late winter or early spring.
Soon after, dark green, glossy leaves begin to form a beautiful backdrop.
Ideal for tight places or small lots, but will brighten up even the largest yards. Matures to a perfect 20-30 ft. tall, forming a dense, round shape.
No other tree can offer this many blooms.
Grows in a variety of soils and climates.
Oklahoma Redbuds are often used to accent gardens because they are very compact. However, they make great ornamental trees as well, being able to command attention with their showy purple-red flowers.
These are strong trees with deep root systems.
Very resistant to storm, ice and wind damage.

Welcome spring!!!

Tummy Time . . .

Ethan did a little tummy time
on St. Patrick's Day.

As you can see he wasn't a big
fan of this new activity!

This was the position he liked better!

3 weeks old today! ! !

An Irish Blessing . . .

An Old Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

I sang this 'Irish Blessing' at the end of a friend's wedding many years ago.

Hope your St. Patrick's Day is full of spring sunshine & warm weather!

Prayers & Encouragement Needed . . .

Could you all do me a favor & stop by Kari's blog http://wheremytreasure.blogspot.com/
so you can offer her words of encouragement.
She's feeling overwhelmed right now.
I'm sure you can remember how it is to be a new mom
facing hormonal changes & exhaustion
from being up & down all night with a newborn.
Thanks in advance for your help!

He's changing everyday.
What big beautiful eyes he has!

Weird Weather . . .

More weird, crazy weather has arrived in Oklahoma once again! Just a few days ago warm, balmy weather had some people wearing shorts & sandals. We even turned on our AC. Now we're wearing coats & waiting to see if snow will develop today.

I'm sure you've heard the old saying "If you don't like the weather in (insert the state here), then wait a few minutes." Actually, that phrase was coined by Oklahoma's Will Rogers, who was of Cherokee heritage and was talking about Oklahoma's turbulent weather. People like him only come around once in a great, great while. We could use somebody like him these days.

Nana's 1st Babysitting Gig . . .

Monday I took care of Ethan while Kari & her sister, Kim, were doing some errands. It's been so long since I've taken care of an infant all by myself. I have to admit I was a little nervous. The girls were only gone for about an hour. He slept most of the time, but did wake up hungry. I was able to warm a bottle, feed & burp him all by myself! Nerves were gone. Babysitting is kind of like riding a bike. Even though you haven't done it for a while it comes back to you quickly!

Catching Up . . .

I'm hoping to catch up this week visiting every one's blog & finding out what you've been up to. I've missed you! I have enjoyed reading your comments about Ethan. Thank you so much!

I have been having the time of my life being a Nana to Ethan. He is changing each day. I could have never imagined the love I would feel for this child! All you grandmas & grandpas know what I'm talking about. I love my husband & son beyond measure, but loving Ethan is almost indescribable! What a miracle he is!

Have a marvelous Monday friends!

Every Gift . . .

Every good and perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,
who does not change like shifting shadows.
James 1:17

When you think about counting your blessings, your mind most likely turns to those you can see~ a warm place to live, food in the fridge, friends and family to hold you close. But, the blessings God showers on you every day go far beyond what you can touch with your hands.

God's blessings include miracles like the process of prayer, a future home in Heaven, and God's ultimate gift of salvation. Although blessings like these are really more than the human mind can understand, they are also easily taken for granted. Take time right now to send God a heartfelt thank you note, via prayer. Ask Him to help your gratitude grow by making you increasingly aware of every blessing He brings your way.

The more we count the blessings we have, the less we crave the luxuries we haven't.

William Arthur Ward

Yes, you heard me!
I'm in love with another man!
Ethan is my new main squeeze!

I love snuggling with my little sweetie!

One Week Old . . .

Ethan is one week old today!
He is such a good baby!

He went to the pediatrician on Tuesday. She said he is a very healthy boy! He has already grown 1/2 an inch. He will see the doctor again in 2 weeks. He is still wearing the monitor. Everything is going well.

Finally Going Home . . .

I just found out that Ethan is going home within the hour! The results from the sleep apnea test showed that he has central sleep apnea & will be on a monitor for at least a month at home. I've got to hurry along now so I can meet them at their house for the homecoming! Please continue praying for little Ethan. Thank you all so much!!

More Baby News . . .

Here's the latest news on Ethan. He was moved into the well baby nursery on Friday because so many babies were admitted to the NICU. He is technically still in the NICU because his breathing is being monitored. Today he will be given a breathing test while sitting in his car seat. He sometimes holds his breath, but then corrects it himself. Tonight he'll be monitored for sleep apnea. If the test shows a problem he will be on a sleep monitor at home. We're hoping he'll be going home on Monday.

Now for new pictures . . .

Here's Bobby feeding Ethan on Friday. He's eating very well. Mostly he's being fed from the bottle. However, Kari is doing a great job pumping as well as breast feeding.

I was so excited to get to hold him for a few minutes on Saturday night. He slept the whole time we were visiting.

So precious !

There was quite an audience at the window. Carol, Kari's Mom, her sister, Kim, Bobby, & my sister, Mary.
Bob has been sick with some kind of bug that's been going around so he hasn't been able to go to the hospital.
Thank you again for your concern & continued prayers for Ethan.
