Friday Night Lights . . .

Last Friday night Bob & I decided to drive around & look at the Christmas lights in the area.
We were delighted to find this infamous lamp in a window in the subdivision across the street!!

"It's a major award!!"
Bob said he wanted to put one in our front window next year . . .
I don't think so!!!!
I do like the movie, but that's going a little bit overboard don't you think?

We drove through the light display at Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow.
There were hundreds of people walking around admiring the thousands of lights. Believe it or not the temperature was 70 degrees!

A few miles from our house we saw this simple yard decoration featuring Charlie Brown & Snoopy.

This mammoth display is right next door to the picture above.

Every year they add more & more . . .
I wonder what their electric bill is for the month of December???

Oh, I love the "major award" lamp! That is just too fun! Maybe you should tell your husband that when he does something that you think is deserving of a major award, you'll let him put one in your window! It would be fun to see what he might do to "earn" this major award! laurie

Goodness, I wouldn't want to pay that electric bill either.
Looks like you had a good time riding around looking at all the sights. Remember when dad would take us after church to look at all the lights? We would get car sick! Ha
Love you
M

NEVER would I have a lamp like that in the window--BUT I would surely love one! That movie was the best..I have many fond memories of that movie. My two sons have a tradition of watching it together every Christmas eve..I hope they never lose it.

That display with all the lights--WOW! Can you imagine, where do they store all that?

Wow! That last display is overwhelming. I cannot even get excited about taking down the tree and little stuff we have up...taking that display down would be just too much!

Hi Carol...I loved your post! I laughed out loud when I saw the leg lamp! I am of the same mind as you as to the massive display! My bill jumps a bunch just for my few lights! My neighbors have a great disply that my grandson adores...the lights blink to the music! I can't even imagine what kind of thinking that would require! Have a Happy New Year!...Debbie

The lamp is just too funny. I thought you only saw those on t.v. I know it has to be the topic of conversation in your neighborhood. Thanks so much for swinging by to help celebrate our Anniversary. It means the world..hugs ~lynne~

Oh my....that one yard is just a tad too much for me!

The lamp is great though! I didn't know you could purchase one like that. How funny!

A group of our church members took a bus trip in early Dec. to Rhema to look at lights. I've always heard it's very pretty.

Looks like you and your husband had a nice time looking at lights.

Hi Carol!

Thanks for visiting my blog. I have been reading through yours and it's fun!

Oh my - - the lamp! I lol when I realized what it was! I'm with you on not wanting one to display next year :)

The yard with the overwhelming display reminds me of a portion of the movie "Thomas Kincade's Christmas Cottage". Have you seen it? I can highly recommend it.

Our church went to Chouteau for an Amish dinner then to Rhema College to see the lights on the way home.

Thanks for sharing!
